Round 2: Day 90: REST & DONE, What's Next?

I'm officially done with my second round of P90X. Although I only see a little bit of physical change, I know for sure I gain more strength, which is not something can be visually seen. I could do more push ups (on toes), lift a bit heavier than before and I can run a little faster. Things been hectic in my life so my last recover week was a bit off, but I still managed to squeeze in some yoga and cardio here and there. 30 min run or 45 minutes of yoga are still better than not doing anything at all.

What's next? Originally I plan to do the One Hundred Push up Program from here, alternating resistance workout and 30 minute run, but with family things happening right now, I am not sure how to juggle stuff around. Taking care a sick person requires lots of efforts and time. Not to mention having a full time job and taking care the house at the same time.

I might not post my workout log as regularly as before, but will try my best!

I will certainly miss this daily workout thing...but life can get in your way sometimes, just gotta deal with it.

Round 2: Day 89 - Yoga X - halfway - Round 2 DONE?

I absolutely have no clue what exactly this recovery workout should be, but heck I did Yoga X up to the balance pose. Since I took X Stretch Day as rest day so technically speaking, I'm DONE with my second round.

Round 2: Day 88 - Rodney Yee's Power Yoga Total Body / Rest

Even though I did Rodney Yee's Power Yoga Total Body, it was so half ass so I decided today would be my rest day. I only did 40 minutes of it and got some good sweat but I wasn't concentrate enough. I have to go sleep earlier today so tomorrow morning I could bust out Tony's P90X Yoga or Fountain of Youth probably.

Round 2: Day 87 - Kenpo X

I managed to squeeze in Kenpo X after preparing dinner. Although it wasn't an intense workout for me anymore, at least I still got some good sweat.
Clearly I am not really following the last recovery week of P90X. I just squeeze in any workout other than weight lifting for this week. Be it's Yoga or any type of other cardio.

Round 2: Day 84, 85, 86

Sorry some family matters happening and I haven't been able to update this blog as regularly as before. One good thing is this is the last week of my Round 2 P90X so I won't feel as much pressure on myself to complete the workout schedule. I know there's nobody that'll scold me for not completing it, but I just have that "guilt" if I didn't do the workout at it supposed to be.

Saturday, Day 84 - 6 miles run
Just ran outside of my house.

Sunday, Day 85 - Yoga X
Finished the whole thing.

Monday, Day 86 - Core Synergistic
Can this workout consider to be a full body workout? It ranges from cardio, weight resistance and some abs. One thing I don't quite like this one is quite random - sometimes you have to be on your feet again, sometimes you have to be back on the deck etc. Speaking of which, I can't even lift 5lbs dumbbells while doing Leaning Crescent Lunge. Anything to do with lifting weights in an angle is really a challenge for me..although I could lift 12 lbs for lawnmower.

Round 2: Day 82 & 83

Day 82 - ARX, Back & Biceps
Again, I had to workout in the evening right after work and before dinner. In some ways I started to miss my morning workout. True I had to drag my ass from the bed and it was still dark outside. But the payoff of get it done without interfering with my daily schedule was priceless. I've been going to bed quite late for the past 2 days and I don't want let it disrupts my usual 10pm bed time. Anyway, this will mark the last resistance workout for this round. Recovery next week and I'll be done with Round 2.

What's next? I dunno. I might want to break away from structured workout DVD (and from Tony) for a bit. But doesn't mean I'll just lead back to my sedentary lifestyle. I'll still do short workouts daily (30 min jog outside my house, some abs workouts, yoga, weight lifting, total body workout etc, you name it). I'll use whatever moves I've learned from P90X and do them in different ways. Kinda like improvise my workouts. Also I'm very interested to do this one hundred push ups program.

Day 83 - Rest

Totally needed.

Round 2: Day 81 - Yoga X - halfway

Things have been quite hectic lately...some personal stuff going on in the family. I had to switch my usual morning workout to evening instead. Got Yoga X down up to the balance pose before Crane, after that had to stop, or else I won't have dinner until 9:30pm. But I felt strong doing the Yoga though. Seems like I had more energy working out in the evening compare to early morning.

Might need to do the last resistance workout in the evening as well tomorrow.

Round 2: Day 80 - ARX, Legs & Back, 8 min Core Ab (2x)

For some reason my left wrist feels hurt. Maybe I twisted a bit yesterday with CST. Glad today was leg workout so gave my left wrist a rest. I did 8 min Core Ab twice so that made it about 16 mins core-abs exercises. Unlike typical ab exercises, this workout incorporated some yoga isometric poses such as plank holds, side plank holds and side leg rises.

Round 2: Day 77, 78, 79

Day 77 - Beach Run

Day 78 - Beach Power Walk

My right foot was acting up again, so I opted Power Walk instead of jogging/running. Kinda sucks cause my time from yesterday was pretty good.

Day 79 - ARX, Chest, Shoulders, Triceps & 8 minute Core Abs
Can't believe this week will be the last week of resistance workouts. I like CST but hate it in some ways. Like for the variety of push ups but hate them cause I can't crank up as good as Tony and the gangs. However, it gives me an opportunity to practice more on my push ups. At least I can do 10 good regular push ups from the toes while I couldn't do any before.

I decided to do another kind of abs workout instead of ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs.
8 minute Core Abs actually was decent too. The DVD has 5 workouts targeting core areas with 5 concentrations: Abs, Arms, Thighs, buns and Stretch. Each workout only lasts for 8 minutes. I should do 2 rounds of Abs, but this is my first time trying it, I'd go easy on it.

Round 2: Day 76 - Rest

*SNOOOOOOOOZE*

Round 2: Day 75: ARX, Shoulders & Arms, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs

I decided to workout in the evening instead of morning. I've been having hard time to sleep lately, thanks to this humid and hot weather. Besides tomorrow is my rest day so I don't have to go to sleep too early.

Anyway, working out in this hot humid weather was quite a challenge. I was already sweating even before started ARX. Can't believe this is the last Shoulders and Arms workout for this round.

Round 2: Day 73 - Yoga X & Day 74 - ARX, Legs & Back, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs

Day 73 - Yoga X
Felt good to do Yoga again, though I was slacking off on my Chaturanga in the beginning. But at least I could hold Half Moon poses a bit longer than before.

Day 74 - ARX, Legs & Back, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs
I've been having hard time to go to sleep at night, thanks to this hot and humid weather. Plus, since opening the window means a light sleeper like me get more distracted by the noises from outside, especially when the train passes by. I live nearby a railroad tracks. Good thing I still managed to drag my asses off the bed and did the workout, and not ditching ChaLean again.

Also I noticed Tony promoted Beachbody.com in Legs & Back a lot more often compared to his other videos. Been noticing for a while but I keep forgetting to write it on the post.

Round 2: Day 71- Another beach run & Day 72: ARX, Chest & Back, No ChaLean Extreme

Day 71 - Another beach run

The run

End session - power walk

Pretty much same distance as before, but this time I divided the (warm up & run) and the power walk cool down.

Day 72 - ARX, Chest & Back
I had to skip ChaLean Abs this morning after doing half ass P90X. I think I did ARX half asleep, seriously. Didn't feel too proud with my Chest & Back performance, so why bother to do more exercise if I won't do great, right? Who knows, maybe I'll crank up ChaLean Extreme later after I got back from work. *finger crossed*

Round 2: Day 69 - Rest Day

I know I sound like a broken record but an extra hour of sleep is always nice. Especially when you have to wake up at 4:15 am every day (including weekends) to squeeze in the workout time.

Round 2: Day 67 - Yoga X & Day 68 - ARX, Back & Biceps, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs

Sorry for the missing post yesterday, was quite a busy day. I had to do Yoga in the evening because I had to be fasting in the morning prior my medical examination. My lunch meal was more like late lunch and super early dinner so was pretty messed up. I had to cut Yoga X short (up to the balance poses only).

ARX, Back & Biceps and ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs this morning. B&B video was the most cheerful compare to other P90X. Seems like everyone in there always chimed in to Tony's lame jokes. I am not always listening to their conversation, instead just had to keep hitting pause button to finish my reps or to adjust my dumbbells.

Rest day tomorrow, more sleep.

Round 2: Day 66 - ARX, Legs & Back, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs

Lately it's pretty tough to get up and workout in the early morning. Could it be I start to get burn out from morning workouts? Blah..I won't get it get to me. It's the last phase, and I want to push myself even harder.

I decided to do Legs & Back today so I have ample of time for my legs to recover before the beach run this coming Saturday. L&B is always tough as usual but I do have my favorite: 3 way lunges (which was introduced by Dreeeeyaah according to Tony).
Single leg wall squat is very deadly to me. I could only manage to hold halfway..anyone could hold the full minute?

My chest and arms are still sore from CST from Sunday.

Round 2: Day 65 - 30 min run, 25 min Cardio X

This morning was another beach run FAIL. We didn't feel like getting up and drove down to the beach. Since today was cardio day for P90X, I decided to do 30 min run outside my house and did Cardio X (skipped the yoga warm up and the superman banana in the end- didn't feel like to roll down on my mat with my already drenched shirt). It was quite a good workout.

I shifted the workout around for this week so the schedule would be:
Sunday - ARX, Chest, Shoulders, Triceps and ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs
Monday - 30 min run, 25 min Cardio X (minus yoga warm up and superman banana)
Tuesday - ARX, Legs & Back, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs
Wednesday - Yoga X
Thursday - ARX, Back & Biceps, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs
Friday - OFF
Saturday - Beach run

Round 2: Day 64 - ARX, Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs

We decided to skip the beach run today and slept in a bit and I did the usual P90X resistance workout. CST was always tough as usual. My triceps was trembling a lot by the end of it, not to mention ChaLean also had additional push ups for the ab workout. For Day 60 pic, I decided to skip it. I've made my mind that I won't put any picture up unless there's a lot of significant difference from the previous ones. As far as I know, Day 60 pic doesn't look much difference from the Round 2 day 30 pic. We'll see how Day 90 pic will be. Anyway, Day 90 won't be my last day of workout, more like my last day of P90X routine and after that point I'll be working on my own routine.

For the ones who live in the US, Have a safe and fun 4th of July! Enjoy the BBQ in moderation and have fun watching the fireworks tonight!

Round 2: Day 61 - ARX, Shoulders and Arms

I wasn't quite happy with my performance today. Ab Ripper X was such a drag. I couldn't believe I was struggling with Mason's Twist. Trust me, I almost almost quit Shoulders and Arms halfway, but K encouraged me to keep going until the end, and I did...in a pretty shaky forms though. And I skipped ChaLean Extreme I've Got Abs today. After the workout, I felt so weak and sluggish. Today is one of those day where your body just refused to workout. Just like how I had a super hard time getting up at 4:15 am this morning. Thank goodness tomorrow is my rest day.
