Birthday dinner recap

I had my birthday dinner with my friends last Saturday at a Thai restaurant.
The food was ok, but it was quite loud because that was the night the Lakers playing against Oklahoma. And to top it off, LAKERS LOST, boo!!

The food was served as individual dish, but we decided to do family style so everyone could taste different foods.

Clockwise from top left: Fried Calamari (appetizer) - I didn't have any, BBQ Chicken wings (appetizer)- I had 2 I think, Pad See Ew (Stir fry flat noodles in soy sauce)- that one was good, Singapore rice noodle, Mixed seafood stir fry?

Pretty much I just had a bite here and there, more like food tasting. It was good in some ways, so I won't feel I overate anything. There are some other dishes, but I didn't get a chance to take the pictures.

I haven't seen my friends for a while so was hoping to be able to talk to them more, but the restaurant was pretty loud from the Lakers game.
Oh well, next time, we should pick a more family friendly restaurant, not bar and grill type. It will be less noisy and better for some of my friends who have kids.

It's weekend again!

I got home a bit late because I stopped by VONS to get more almond milk. Dang, those things are good but so damn pricey! My brother was kind enough to bring home some Korean food for dinner so I didn't have to cook anything after I got home.

He got the spicy squid, spicy beef and those come with 2 side dishes kimchi and radish. The food was good but quite spicy and salty if you didn't have any rice. I took a bit of white rice just to dilute the spiciness. Afterwards, I nibbled some more wheat crackers dipped into the hummus.

Today's menu / last night dinner

I made a whole wheat bread last night but didn't get a chance to slice it today for my Peanut butter whole wheat toast - as you know I started up the workout quite late.
So I just grabbed one of the Asian bakery bread bun (white bread w/ filling - gotta reduce this intake).

As for my recovery drink, didn't quite have one but more like recovery meal
1 cup soy milk with 1/2 tsp cocoa powder & 1/2 tsp sugar
1 large banana

Breakfast (at work):
1 white bread bun w/ sliver of almonds and peanut filling
1 cup green tea

Lunch
2 steamed chicken meat balls
white rice- about 1/2 cup maybe
some vegetables from soup
1 big apple

Afternoon snack:
1 large banana

Last night dinner:
2-3 bowls of vegetable soup (bok choy, tomatoes in homemade chicken broth)
2 steamed chicken meat balls
2 oranges

P90X Lean Phase 1: Day 7 - Rest or X Stretch

I decided to sleep in today so no P90X. Besides I had some errands to run. In the morning, I had to go for a dentist appointment for my regular cleaning, despite having this stupid canker sore at the back of my mouth. The dentist told me that I might have to have my upper two wisdom teeth taken out (yeah, my canker sore is one of the problem).

In the evening, I went to my friend's birthday dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant. Hopefully I didn't bust my meal plan for the first week of my P90X. I tried the steamed egg a little bit (the one in the stone pot), and it was ok. Not many people touched the kimchi (below the steamed egg), even though it wasn't that spicy. However, the taste was a little too salty for me to eat without any rice, so I just nibbled on it a bit. I didn't try the others.
Anyway, since I am not a big fan of red meat, I mostly eat their side dishes which mostly were vegetables. Our group was pretty small tonight because a lot of my other friends couldn't make it. So I managed to finish that whole plate of salad (top right)...haha. The glass noodle was not bad, but I don't usually eat too much carb at dinner so I just had a small bite of it. Below the rice noodle was the rice wrapper. It's kind of like Korean style tortilla. You wrap the vegetables and the BBQ meat, dip it in a sauce before you eat it. I had about 1-2 wraps. The one next to the rice wrapper dish was pickled radish. I luv those things and I finished all of them...haha.
The birthday cake was a cream cheesecake, which was my least favorite one so I decided to skip it. But it looks pretty..hehe.

So, tomorrow will be my second week of P90X Lean Phase 1. Time to BRING IT!
